Project management demo videos beyond the board tour

A project-management demo should follow work from an initial state into a useful next state. A task, owner and deadline often provide enough narrative structure. Show how the product helps coordinate those elements instead of touring every available view.

When this is useful

Choose a workflow that can be demonstrated safely with fictional team members. A board is visually appealing, but its meaning depends on what moves, who acts and what changes afterward. Establish that context before switching between board, list and calendar views.

Plan the product story

  1. Create a simple example task with a clear missing piece, such as no owner or an unresolved review. Keep unrelated project data out of view.
  2. Demonstrate one coordination action. Assigning an owner or updating a status should have a visible saved result that the next scene can reference.
  3. Show the relevant follow-through. Open the destination view or notification preview only when it helps explain the same task.
MAKE IT CONCRETE

An illustrative workflow

A design task starts in “Needs review.” The demo shows the reviewer’s comment and the task moving to an approved state, then reveals the updated project view. A separate video can explain automation rules rather than interrupting this basic handoff.

Limits and checks

Do not send invitations or notifications to real teammates for promotional footage unless those actions are authorised. A prepared demo workspace makes retakes and approvals easier.

Your next step

Cut any scene that cannot be connected to the example task in one sentence. The resulting shorter sequence will usually be easier to understand.
