Recording fixes / DEMOVELA FIELD GUIDE

Why is my screen recording blurry?

Find the first stage where the text becomes soft: the original capture, the export or the embedded player. Changing export settings will not restore detail that was never captured.

When this is useful

Software footage makes blur obvious because labels, table lines and small icons depend on sharp edges. A recording can look clear at its native size and become unreadable when the whole desktop is squeezed into a small card.

Diagnose and fix the cause

  1. Open the original file at its native pixel dimensions and pause on a detailed screen. Compare it with the exported file at the same display size, rather than comparing two differently sized players.
  2. If the original is soft, record a smaller relevant window or enlarge the application interface before capture. Keep the important task visible; do not enlarge so far that controls disappear off-screen.
  3. If only the export is soft, check scaling, resolution and compression. Export a short representative section, change one setting, and compare the field labels rather than judging the background.
MAKE IT CONCRETE

What this looks like in practice

An illustrative 1920-pixel-wide dashboard placed in a 480-pixel card is displayed at one quarter of its original width. A 16-pixel label occupies roughly four display pixels. A closer source view or a deliberate detail shot is more useful than merely raising the bitrate.

Limits and checks

Upscaling can make a file larger without adding authentic interface detail. AI reconstruction may also alter text or icons, which is unsuitable evidence for a product demo.

Your next step

Save the clear source and document the smallest viewing size at which the decisive text remains readable.
