When this is useful
An overloaded recording environment, uneven source timing, expensive page animation or a struggling playback device can all look like a choppy video. Diagnosing them as one problem encourages unnecessary re-encoding.
Diagnose and fix the cause
- Play a short original file locally and inspect the same movement frame by frame in an editor. Check whether the jump exists in the source or only during streaming playback.
- Repeat a small capture with unnecessary applications and browser tabs closed. Use a controlled task with deliberate cursor movement, and compare the result before changing several recording settings.
- If the source is smooth but the delivery is not, test the exported file locally, inspect its frame rate and compare the embedded player on another device or connection.
What this looks like in practice
An illustrative dashboard scroll may stutter while a large background report loads. Recording the settled page and using a slower, shorter scroll can produce clearer evidence than capturing a long loading sequence at a higher nominal frame rate.
Limits and checks
Frame interpolation invents intermediate imagery and can distort small text or cursor states. It is not a reliable way to prove a software interaction. A nominal 60 fps label does not mean every captured frame contains a new, smoothly timed image.
