When this is useful
The starting material determines the workflow. With a good recording, you mainly need editing and composition. With only a URL, you also need product access, navigation and scene selection. If a buyer must choose their own path, a clickable walkthrough may be more appropriate than a fixed video.
Choose the workflow
- Write a short evaluation brief. Use the same product task, audience and output dimensions for each tool you try. Include one dense screen and one transition between states.
- Inspect the source controls. Confirm whether you can retain originals, remove unsuitable scenes and change an individual shot without recording the whole product again.
- Test the handoff. Open the exported file outside the editing app, play it on a phone and ask a colleague to identify the main action without your explanation.
A production example
A project-management demo can follow an overdue task from an unassigned inbox into a named project and a scheduled date. This is more informative than showing the inbox, board, calendar and settings as four unrelated features. Pick a maker that lets you preserve that narrative.
Limits and checks
A download button does not establish output quality. Nor does an attractive default background solve an interface that has been scaled too small. Judge the exported video at the size your audience will watch.
Your next step
Choose one source workflow and two destinations, such as a website and a phone feed. Compare the effort needed to create a useful version for each.
