Video makers / DEMOVELA FIELD GUIDE

Product launch video maker

A product launch video maker should help you combine a clear reveal with enough product evidence to make the reveal meaningful. The job is to introduce what is new, show why it matters and give the viewer an appropriate next step. A launch montage without a visible task leaves the central question unanswered.

When this is useful

Decide whether you are launching a company, a product or a feature. Each needs a different amount of context. A new product has to explain the category; an existing feature announcement can begin closer to the changed behaviour. Keep the launch claim narrow enough for the available footage.

Choose the workflow

  1. Build three beats: promise, proof and invitation. Write one sentence for each before choosing transitions. If the proof sentence contains several unrelated tasks, simplify the story.
  2. Give the interface room to work. Use a restrained reveal to introduce the product, then hold the important view long enough to understand the change. Save decorative motion for transitions.
  3. Plan the delivery set. Make a complete launch cut, a shorter teaser and a genuinely readable phone version. Keep the same claim across them while changing the amount of explanation.
MAKE IT CONCRETE

A production example

For a new saved-search feature, open with “Your next search starts where you left off.” Show a filter being saved, the saved search being reopened and a useful result. Finish with the feature name and a route to try it. These beats form a launch story without invented adoption figures.

Limits and checks

“Launching today” and similar date-sensitive copy expires quickly. Keep a version with an evergreen opening, and record which file belongs on the launch page after launch week ends.

Your next step

Draft the proof beat first. Once it makes sense, choose an expressive or minimal template that supports the product rather than overpowering it.
