B2B SaaS demo videos: explain one valuable workflow

A B2B SaaS demo video should help a buyer recognise a work problem and understand how one product workflow addresses it. Lead with a task and its visible result. Organisational buyers often need to understand permissions, handoffs and evidence as well as the interface.

When this is useful

Pick a specific viewer, such as an operations lead evaluating weekly reporting. A generic tour aimed at every role is likely to spend time on features that do not affect that viewer’s decision. Keep the opening grounded in their work rather than an abstract category claim.

Plan the product story

  1. Select one recurring task and identify the person who performs it. List the input, the main decision and the saved result.
  2. Show the handoff where it matters. If another role reviews the result, make the role change explicit rather than jumping between accounts without explanation.
  3. End with the next evaluation step. Offer a related walkthrough or a trial task that continues the same story instead of switching to an unrelated sales claim.
MAKE IT CONCRETE

An illustrative workflow

An operations demo could start with a list of incoming requests, show one being assigned and finish with the updated workload view. This demonstrates coordination. It does not prove that the organisation saves a specific number of hours unless separate evidence supports that statement.

Limits and checks

A demo workspace should use authorised example data. Customer names, confidential totals and real invitations rarely add explanatory value and can make footage harder to approve.

Your next step

Ask a colleague in the target role to explain the workflow after watching. Revise the point where their description differs from the intended task.
