When this is useful
Viewers often follow movement before reading the interface. Circling a button repeatedly, searching through menus or moving the pointer while explaining a result can pull attention away from the evidence.
Diagnose and fix the cause
- Rehearse the path and place the pointer near the next action before recording its scene. Move deliberately, click once and let the resulting state settle.
- Keep idle cursor positions away from labels, charts and on-screen captions. Capture a clean result hold with the pointer outside the decisive region where practical.
- Use an editor’s cursor controls only if the source supports them. Otherwise, prefer a cleaner recapture to a masking patch that damages the interface behind the pointer.
What this looks like in practice
An illustrative approval demo needs one movement to the Approve control, followed by a visible status change. A large animated ring around every unrelated click adds visual noise and can make a simple action feel complicated.
Limits and checks
Some recordings bake the pointer into the video pixels; others preserve separate cursor data. Do not promise that a pointer can always be removed cleanly after capture. Reconstructed cursor actions should remain faithful to the real workflow.
