When this is useful
A request for a few videos can expand quickly once each story needs portrait and landscape layouts, several openings and translated copy. Counting variants early helps keep the brief and review workload realistic.
How to use this calculator
- Enter the number of distinct stories, aspect ratios, hook variations and languages. Use positive whole numbers and count only dimensions you genuinely plan to vary.
- Enter estimated review minutes per output. The result is a planning allowance for watching and checking files, not an estimate of render or editing time.
- Remove combinations that do not serve a useful audience or placement. Create an explicit asset matrix when only some stories need some languages or hooks.
Worked calculation
An illustrative campaign with three stories, two aspect ratios, two hooks and one language contains 12 combinations. At five review minutes per output, it needs an estimated 60 minutes of review. That does not mean twelve separate source recordings are necessary.
Formula and units
Outputs = stories × aspect ratios × hooks × languages. Review hours = outputs × review minutes ÷ 60.
Limits and checks
This calculator assumes a complete Cartesian product, not a selective campaign plan. Mobile assets may require their own responsive source footage even when a story is shared. It does not schedule, render or publish the outputs.
Your next step
Use the count to choose a manageable first batch, then map each output to its source and approval owner.
