Scripts / DEMOVELA FIELD GUIDE

A 30-second product demo script with a scene plan

A 30-second product demo script has room for one task, a visible result and a next step. Keep the spoken copy short enough to leave time for the interface. Use the timeline as a planning example, then measure a read-through against your actual footage.

When this is useful

Start with the action you can show clearly. Three product moments are usually more useful than a rapid list of unrelated features. The example below uses a fictional planning product; replace its actions with behaviour your recording genuinely demonstrates.

Adapt the script

  1. Choose one promise that the source can support. Avoid adding claims about time saved or customer results without separate evidence.
  2. Pair each sentence with a specific shot. If a sentence needs two different workflows to explain it, remove one or make a longer video.
  3. Read the copy aloud and leave visible pauses around the result. Shorten words before speeding up an essential interaction.
MAKE IT CONCRETE

Why these scenes belong together

The script contains roughly forty spoken words, leaving room for clicks, reading and the end card. The proposed shot timings are an editorial starting point, not a guarantee that the actual interface can complete every action in those intervals.

Illustrative copy to adapt. Replace bracketed fields and verify every claim against your product.

Limits and checks

Do not hide required steps just to hit thirty seconds. If the task cannot be explained honestly at that length, choose a smaller task or extend the video.

Your next step

Use the script timer with your final wording, then compare its estimate with a real read-through and the scene durations.

Examples are illustrative production guidance, not measured customer results. General workflows are not promises of product compatibility. Read our editorial approach and current Demovela scope.
