Production workflows / DEMOVELA FIELD GUIDE

A workflow for translating product demo videos

Localise a product demo by coordinating the script, interface, captions, timing and next action. Translating the headline alone can leave the video inconsistent or impossible to read.

When this is useful

Text length, pronunciation, reading direction and local product availability can change the composition. A translated voiceover may also outlast the source scene, while a translated caption may cover the control it describes.

The working process

  1. Inventory editable strings, spoken lines, interface labels, embedded text and links. Mark which items require new source footage rather than a text replacement.
  2. Have a suitable language reviewer adapt the message in context. Preserve accurate product terminology and verify that the displayed interface matches the instructions where that matters.
  3. Render each language and format separately for review. Check text overflow, reading time, captions, audio alignment and the destination of the final call to action.
MAKE IT CONCRETE

A production example

An illustrative English “Save view” caption may be short enough for a compact annotation. Its translation might need a wider layout or a separate text scene. The correct response is to adapt the design, not reduce the type until it becomes unreadable.

Limits and checks

Automated translation is a draft input, not evidence of linguistic approval. Demovela’s planning examples do not promise built-in translation, dubbing or support for every language and script.

Your next step

Store language variants with the source script and product version so a future interface change can be updated consistently.
