Video makers / DEMOVELA FIELD GUIDE

Product video localisation without losing UI context

Product video localisation adapts language, interface context and delivery to a specific audience. Translating the narration alone can leave a mismatch between what the viewer hears and the labels they must follow. Decide which parts of the product and message need localisation before making variants.

When this is useful

Separate language changes from market changes. A new language can alter line lengths, pronunciation and reading time. A new market may require different examples, currency labels or terminology. Use only product behaviour and offers that are actually available to that audience.

Choose the workflow

  1. Make an inventory of translatable material. Include spoken copy, titles, captions, CTAs, interface labels and any visible example data. Mark which text is baked into the source recording.
  2. Record the correct UI where available. If the interface remains in the original language, explain that honestly and avoid overlay labels that suggest a translated version exists.
  3. Review the adapted edit in context. Have a fluent reviewer check terminology, text fit and the alignment between narration and actions. Allow the timing to change when the language needs more space.
MAKE IT CONCRETE

A production example

A reporting demo translated into French may need a longer title and a different narration pause around a filter. If the application itself is still in English, keep the real filter label visible and explain it in the narration. Do not replace it with a fabricated French control.

Limits and checks

Automatic multilingual voice generation and translation are not promised by the current Demovela preview. Prepare approved localised copy and appropriate footage using the tools your workflow supports.

Your next step

Create a per-language asset checklist and localise one dense scene first. Resolve terminology and layout problems there before producing every video variant.
