When this is useful
A short film can need substantial custom design, while a longer tutorial can use a straightforward recording. The number of source workflows, output formats and approval rounds often explains the effort better than seconds of runtime.
The working process
- List deliverables with dimensions, approximate duration and source requirements. Distinguish a true mobile recording from a resized desktop export.
- Estimate hours for each production stage and apply your own rate. Add known licence or contractor costs explicitly; do not hide them inside an unexplained per-video number.
- Define included revisions and an allowance for uncertain work. Track actual effort by stage so the next estimate can use your own evidence.
A production example
An illustrative estimate of two preparation hours, one capture hour, five editing hours and two revision hours totals ten hours. At a user-selected rate of 60 currency units per hour, labour is 600 units before licences or contingency. These are arithmetic inputs, not a market quote.
Limits and checks
The cost calculator does not predict agency prices or guarantee an automated run’s cost. Product access issues, new creative direction and additional languages can change the scope materially.
Your next step
Calculate a first budget, then attach the brief and assumptions so reviewers can tell what the number includes.
