What happens in the film
A Retro VHS film for MCPBackend, framed as a tape for your coding agent. A cassette's handwritten label reads "MCPBACKEND — for your coding agent" before it loads, rewinds through the real homepage and the deck shows PLAY. A CRT terminal types "build me a tasks app with auth", MCP tool calls stream back, and "Give your coding agent a real backend." lands in glowing type. Four channel flips show rebuilds of the site's own UI: SQLite tables, the instant REST API, auth with owner-only row policies, and a remote MCP create_table call, with site numbers marked illustrative. EJECT pops the tape out for "Your data stays portable.", and the MCPBackend wordmark lights up in neon over a synthwave grid with "One project free · No credit card" and mcpbackend.com.
The Retro VHS style
Tracking lines, timestamps, tape labels and CRT glow wrapped around real website captures.
Good fit for: Developer tools, playful brands and products with a nostalgic angle or a “press play” moment.
Review tip: Keep the distortion on the frame, not on the product text. Viewers should still read every interface label.
How this film was made
Demovela read the public website at mcpbackend.com and used its real pages, product visuals and positioning to compose this film. MCPBackend is a product from the same portfolio as Demovela, so this is a sample, not a customer testimonial.
To make one for your own product, paste your website URL into Demovela and pick a style. Your first watermarked film is free, and you can ask for a different hook, pace or format afterwards. Each new version is kept as its own output.
