What happens in the film
A vertical Retro VHS film for Loopdeck, a fictional beat-making app for your phone, staged as a late-night music-TV countdown taped off a CRT. A wall of neon drum pads lights on the opening stabs of the music before "Your phone is a beat machine." A chrome "Loopdeck Countdown" ident slams over a pink sunburst, then the chart counts down the app's four steps on a phone: #4 Drum pads, with the pads hitting on the beat; #3 Loops, as Drums, Bass, Keys and Vox lanes stack under a playhead; #2 Record, with a live waveform drawing; and the number one, "Your track", exported from the phone. The track name, tempo and app contents are marked illustrative. It ends on the Loopdeck mark lighting pad by pad, "Make beats on your phone.", labelled as a sample film for a fictional brand.
The Retro VHS style
Tracking lines, timestamps, tape labels and CRT glow wrapped around real website captures.
Good fit for: Developer tools, playful brands and products with a nostalgic angle or a “press play” moment.
Review tip: Keep the distortion on the frame, not on the product text. Viewers should still read every interface label.
How this film was made
Loopdeck is a fictional brand created for this sample, so the website, product and screens in the film are invented. It shows how the Retro VHS style handles a product of this kind; it is not a customer project.
To make one for your own product, paste your website URL into Demovela and pick a style. Your first watermarked film is free, and you can ask for a different hook, pace or format afterwards. Each new version is kept as its own output.
