When this is useful
Start with a task a customer recognises: turning a request into a report, comparing two items or saving an approved draft. Decide which visible result would prove that task is complete. This gives both the agent and the reviewer a concrete target. Choose the video style after you know what needs to be shown.
Choose the workflow
- Define access and evidence. Give the recorder a supported URL and an authorised demo environment. List the result it needs to reach, plus actions it must avoid, such as publishing or purchasing.
- Separate capture from editing. Keep the complete original recording and a scene index. The editor can then shorten pauses and create variants without pretending the product behaved differently.
- Review one complete output. Check the actual MP4 for legible interface text, multiple useful scenes, correct labels and an ending that tells the viewer what to do next.
A production example
For a reporting product, a useful sequence is choosing a dataset, adjusting a filter, inspecting the changed report and exporting a sample. An opening claim such as “Explore your weekly results” can be supported by those screens. “Double your revenue” cannot be established by showing the same workflow.
Limits and checks
Automatic login is conditional on the target product and supported authentication flow. Paid access, CAPTCHA, consent requirements and unsupported sign-in can stop a recording. Generated copy also needs editorial review.
Your next step
Try the smallest representative workflow first, then request a second video from the preserved source. Compare whether the second version changes the story deliberately while keeping the evidence accurate.
