INTEGRATIONS · N8N COMMUNITY NODE

Demovela + n8n
Product videos from the workflows you already run.

Connect your Demovela account to n8n and let releases, briefs and tickets become product demo and marketing video drafts. Watch render status from Slack, publish approved exports and keep a library digest flowing without opening the studio.

Package n8n-nodes-demovela 3.2.0 · MIT licensed · OAuth sign-in, no API keys · Plain REST requests to demovela.com/v1

WHAT YOU CAN AUTOMATE

Three jobs the node does well.

Brief in, draft out

Turn a changelog, Notion page or ticket into a saved video draft with the template already chosen. Review it in the studio before anything renders.

Status where your team works

Poll a video on a schedule and post to Slack, email or a ticket the moment an export finishes, so nobody refreshes the studio.

A library that reports itself

List videos and drafts every week and send a digest of what was made, what is waiting for review and what is still a brief.

SETUP

Three steps to a connected account.

STEP 01

Install the node

n8n Cloud. Open the node panel in any workflow, search for Demovela and add the verified node. There is nothing to install.

Self-hosted n8n. Go to Settings → Community Nodes → Install, enter n8n-nodes-demovela and confirm. Restart is handled by n8n.

STEP 02

Connect your Demovela account

  1. Add the Demovela node and create a Demovela OAuth2 API credential.
  2. Click Connect my account. n8n discovers the authorization server for the Demovela API at https://demovela.com/v1 and registers its own callback (dynamic registration, authorization code flow with PKCE).
  3. On the consent page, sign in to Demovela with the new-tab link, return, refresh and approve the named client. You will see the permissions it asks for: read your profile, read videos and drafts, save drafts.
  4. Save the credential. Access tokens expire and n8n refreshes them; no key or secret goes into a workflow field.

Manage or disconnect clients any time from Connected apps in your Demovela account.

STEP 03

Pick a resource and an operation

Choose a Resource (Account, Template, Video or Video Draft), then an Operation. Only that resource's fields are shown.

Start with Get Profile on a manual trigger to confirm the connection, then map IDs from List Videos or List Templates into the next Demovela node. List operations offer Return All or a Limit (default 50) and follow paging for you.

Each input item produces one output item with the response envelope. Failed requests stop the workflow unless Continue On Fail is enabled.

Upgrading from 1.x or 2.x

Version 3 talks to the Demovela REST API at https://demovela.com/v1 with its own OAuth audience, so tokens issued for the earlier resource cannot be reused. After updating the package, create a new Demovela OAuth2 API credential, connect it and select it in your Demovela nodes before running workflows. Input names are unchanged. Review the resource JSON before enabling write workflows.

OPERATIONS

Everything the node can do, by resource.

Six operations map one to one to Demovela REST endpoints and return ordinary JSON. The node has no trigger; pair read operations with a Schedule trigger to poll. Only Create Video Draft writes, and it saves a draft without recording, rendering or spending credits.

Credits and drafts

A draft is a saved brief, not a rendered video. Rendering, clean exports and credit use happen in the studio when you choose to continue a draft. The node cannot record, render, publish or buy credits on your behalf, and download links in video records still require product sign-in. Selecting the write operation is enough; there is no extra confirmation switch, so keep write nodes out of monitoring workflows.

RECIPES

Six workflows to copy on day one.

GitHub·Release publishedDemovela·Create Video Draft

A GitHub release trigger passes the changelog as the brief. Demovela saves a demo video draft for the new feature, ready for the team to review and render.

Schedule·Every 10 minutesSlack·Post a message

Get Video Status checks the export you are waiting on. An IF node compares the state with the last run and posts to Slack only when the render finishes.

Demovela·Export finishedYouTube·Upload video

Get Video confirms the clean export exists, a Form trigger collects the approved MP4 from the reviewer, and the YouTube node publishes it with the title and description from the video record.

Notion·Page added to databaseDemovela·Create Video Draft

A Notion database holds your video briefs. Each new page becomes a Demovela draft with the matching template, and the page gets the draft ID written back.

Schedule·Every MondayEmail·Send digest

List Videos runs weekly with Return All. A Code node groups outputs and drafts by state, then an email or Slack node sends the library digest to marketing.

Linear·Issue moved to DoneDemovela·Create Video Draft

When a shipped feature closes, its summary and acceptance notes become a walkthrough brief. List Templates picks the format and the draft waits in the studio.

Recipes use standard n8n nodes (Schedule, IF, Code, Form) together with the Demovela node. Deduplicate scheduled workflows that create drafts: use a new request ID per draft and reuse one only when retrying the same draft.

WHY N8N

Automation that keeps you in control.

Self-hostable and open

Run n8n on your own infrastructure or on n8n Cloud. Your briefs, video metadata and credentials stay where you decide.

Hundreds of nodes

GitHub, Notion, Linear, Slack, YouTube, Google Sheets and every HTTP API you already use connect to Demovela in one canvas.

Your account rules still apply

The node signs in with OAuth and asks for named permissions only. Account ownership, workspace roles, plan limits and credits are enforced by the Demovela API on every request.
