When this is useful
A launch asset and a support reply can start from the same screen but have different jobs. The launch needs deliberate framing and a reusable export. The reply needs enough context to answer a particular person promptly. Evaluate that distinction before moving your team to another tool.
How to make the decision
- Record the same small task in each candidate: open an item, make a change and show the saved result. Use identical safe data and microphone conditions.
- Review both at the actual embed size. Note whether you can read the decisive label, hear the explanation and understand the result without the presenter adding context.
- Request a revision to one outdated screen. Check the effort to update the recording, distribute the revision and retain the source. Verify current export and sharing terms directly.
A practical decision example
For an illustrative approval-tool launch, the public asset might need a close view of the approval action and a branded ending. A private handover video may instead need a colleague explaining why an item was rejected. These are different deliverables even when the application is identical.
Limits and checks
This is an editorial workflow comparison based on official positioning, not a timed test or a claim that either product lacks every feature associated with the other. Plans and supported environments can change.
Your next step
Write the deliverable first: public launch file, reusable tutorial or person-specific message. Then trial that exact deliverable.
